Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it… She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time… It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed… Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire…
Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third pot… He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter… The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing… After twenty minutes he turned off the burners… He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl… He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl… He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup…
Turning to her, he asked… Daughter, what do you see? Potatoes, eggs and coffee, she hastily replied…
Look closer, he said, and touch the potatoes… She did and noted that they were soft.
He then asked her to take an egg and break it… After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg…
Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee… Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face…
Father, what does this mean ? she asked…
He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity the boiling water… However, each one reacted differently… The potato went in strong, hard and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak… The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water… Then the inside of the egg became hard… However, the ground coffee beans were unique… After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new…
Which one are you ? he asked his daughter… When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond ? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean ?
#Moral: In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is how you choose to react to it and what you make out of it… Life is all about leaning, adopting and converting all the struggles that we experience into something positive…. _____

One day, some youths went to a jungle to practice shooting.
They kept few pots at a distance and targeted them. None of them could hit even a single pot.
A saint who was watching them started laughing. One of them went to him and asked, “Why are you laughing? Do you know how to shoot?” At this, the saint took the gun and fired at the pots and smashed all of them one by one.
The youths were amazed to see this and asked the saint if he was a magician.
The saint replied, I am neither a magician nor a sharpshooter…
I just concentrated and the result is in front of you.. One should always work with concentration.. The youths thanked him for the piece of advice….. _______
Friday Islamic story. Abu Jahl
‘Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, a companion of the Noble Prophet (S), was the first person to openly recite the Qur’an in front of a gathering.
He participated in all the battles of the Noble Prophet (S) but was so short that even when he stood up among people who were sitting, he would not rise above them! It was for this reason that in the battle of Badr, he requested the Noble Prophet (S): “I do not possess the strength to fight in the battle; can you assign me some task by means of which I too can attain the same reward as those who fight ?
“Look amongst the dying infidels and if you happen to find anyone of them still alive, kill him,” the Prophet (S) replied.
Abdullah narrates: “As I moved in the midst of people who seemed to be dead, I came to Abu Jahl, the most unyielding enemy of the Noble Prophet (S). He still had some life left in him.
“I thank Allah that He has humiliated you,” I said as I sat on his chest.
Abu Jahl opened his eyes and grunted, “Woe unto you! Who has been victorious ?
“Victory is for Allah and His Prophet, and it is for this reason that I shall kill you,” I replied, placing my foot on his neck.
With great arrogance, he cried, “O’ tiny shepherd! You have placed your foot on a very exalted place. Do know that nothing is more painful for me than to be killed by a dwarf like you.
Oh! Why did not one of the sons of ‘Abdul Muttalib kill me ?
I severed his head from his body and appeared before the Noble Prophet (S).
“Glad tidings to you, O’ Prophet of Allah! This is the head of Abu Jahl.”

There was a King who had one Eye and one leg. He asked all the painters to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But none of them could because how could they paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and one leg.
Eventually one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King.
It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone…
He painted the King AIMING for a HUNT. Targeting with ONE Eye Closed and One Leg Bent….

Value-A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill.
In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill ?”
Hands started going up.
He said,. “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. ” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, “Who still wants it? “Still the hands were up in the air.
“Well,”. he replied, “What if I do this ?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it ?” Still the hands went into the air.
“My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special – Don’t ever forget it!”
Our struggles in life develop our strengths. Without struggles, we never grow and never get stronger, so it’s important for us to tackle challenges on our own, and not be relying on help from others.
